Our approach to product feedback

Here at Power Factors, we take product feedback extremely seriously. We believe that listening to our customers, team members, and prospects - by taking their ideas on board - is a sure-fire way to build better products.
We use your feedback to identify the most important features, ideas, pain points, and opportunities so that you can get more value from our products as efficiently as possible.


The benefits of giving us your product feedback

If you take the time to submit your product feedback to us, it means that you have a direct say in how our products develop over time. It means that your ideas are valued and listened to, rather than filed away and ignored.
Ultimately, it allows us to work with you to build the best products we possibly can.

What happens to your product feedback

Our product teams meet regularly with the CSMs, to go through new ideas. Once we have verified that an idea isn’t already available in the system, and seems like a good idea, we change the status to Accepting Votes. Then more people can vote, prioritize, and give us information. This allows us to gauge demand, gather use cases, and establish impact & value.

If we decide to implement an idea, the status will change to Planned or In Development. When it’s done, the status will change to Delivered. Anyone who has submitted or voted on a specific request will be notified when the status of the request is updated. We will always provide an explanation as to the nature of the status update.

Unfortunately, not all requests are in line with our vision and strategy, so sometimes we reject them. When this happens, the status will be changed to Archived and we’ll add a note to let you know that it won’t be delivered.


How we choose what to implement

When we plan a release, we use many factors to help decide which suggestions to implement, including:

  • Customer feedback - there are many ways we listen for your feedback:
    formal customer interviews and other research activities
    events like conferences and trade shows
    comments and votes on issues here in Greenbyte & BluePoint Influence
  • CSM team insights - our CSM team knows which issues are the most challenging and most common for customers.
  • Product analytics - we track how users move through the system, which helps us understand how existing features are being used.
  • Product strategy - our long-term strategic vision for the products.
If you reach out directly to our support or customer success teams, they'll be able to look up the ideas for you, but they won't have any additional information or provide an estimate for when your item will be reviewed.


Custom applications

Sometimes you need functionality that is specific to your needs and not necessarily useful for other customers or in line with Power Factors strategic goals. These special requests are addressed through custom applications, which can be developed by you, using the Greenbyte API, by third-party partners, or by Power Factors for an additional fee. If you are interested in having a custom application built, contact your CSM.

  1. Add additional equations for calculating Energetic Availability based on specific OEM contracts

    It would be extremely useful to be able to create custom availability contracts that use different methods for calculating lost production and energetic availability.

  2. Resolve Task Through Comment

    There should be a toggle to resolve/unresolve a task from the add comment window - similar to the resolve task function found when logging site access.

  3. Automatically switch from OPC into ODBC during no communication with OPC

    At this point the latest status will remain visible in the moitoring screens as soon as OPC communication is lost. But when an ODBC connection exist as a back-up the data is still available (not live but near real in 10 min - interval). It is required that as soon as there will be a communication loss at OPC for more than a certain time frame (30 min.) automatically the ODBC takes over and displays the latest 10 minute values in the monitoring screens.   4. Data Studio: Compare different time intervals - i.e. years

    We would like to be able to set up a graph comparing devices or farms values over different years (annaul average values and same month values over different years) - both in data studio and "analyze" dashboard.

  5. Site Access Comments - add to tasks | show in View site access

    When site access is attached to a specific task - the comments added to the site access - should be added to the attached task as well - and then show up in the comment section of the view task page. This would help keep track of information gathered when personnel are arriving at or leaving a site.

    There should also be a comment section in the view site access page - As of now - the only way to view comments for site access seems to be by editing the access - and only the last comment is visible.

  7. Data Studio: Export to Excel or CSV format

    Line- and Column diagrams are awesome but sometimes I want to import what I calculated into a csv (WT - TS - Signals) or copy it direkt from a table.

  8. Data Studio - Convenient Time Interval Selector

    In the same way you can conveniently select 'Year' or 'Month' in the 'Analyse - Portfolio' section - you should be able to do the same in 'Data Studio'. Currently you can only select Last 7 Days - Last 30 Days - Last 12 months or Custom Interval.

  9. Data Studio: Additional features for Dirty Dozen

    When selecting dirty dozen in the data studio - the overview should be maximized so scrolling down is not needed. Secondly - a new feature would be benificial when the posibility is there to click on the error code or message description to zoom in on which turbines this event occured in the selected period.

  10. Status categorization / Status log: improve grouping / splitting meachnism

    (1) Ignore warnings in the grouping/splitting meachnism. The most issues we have right now with grouping/splitting are related to warnings - as a stop can not be split if there is a warning in the period.

    (2) Auto-split status groups when there is a change in the availablity category (as this is the normal use case for splitting - e.g. if the turbine has an error (unavailable) after a planned grid shut down or maintenance (available).

    (3) Auto-split in certain special cases. E.g. Nordex 920 (icing status) change to 921 (MET Ice detection alarm finished) - WT remains stopped and…

  11. Use calculated variables in Data Studio

    Define calculated variables for analysis in the Data Studio - such as:

    "wind park average value" -
    "average of selected turbines". Note that the "wind park average" option is already available in the "alarms" section.

  12. Comment Widget

    It would be very useful to have a single widget that could compile all comments made associated with a site or device. The widget could be configured with "comment signals" Much like widgets are currently configured for device specific signals. A comment widget could compile the comments from Tasks - Site access - Device access - or just site notes and comments. It could possibly function similar to a chat box where users could tag users or groups in their comment to alert them or to follow certain threads or topics.   13. Add a Surrendered Option to Device Access Records

    I would like to have a surrendered option added to the device access section of Breeze. This can be used when an AWP has been taken out but work is not complete and the technician has surrendered the AWP. This happens when isolations have been left in place. If the device access is surrendered it should not be possible to take another device access out (like when it is in OUT status)

  14. E-mail/Push note to the creator of a task when the expected end time has passed

    When a task is done and the expected end time passed and the task ist unresolved. Then the creator or the person who make the latest update gets a reminder through email or push note.

  15. Plan > Task: Improve the filter options (especially "text search")

    In the text search you can search for the title or the description. When the string you are searching for is not in one sequenze - the text search don't find the task.

    Example:

    Task Object:

    id = 393
    title = 'You are beautiful'
    description = 'Hello World'

    textSearch: 'You beautiful'
    No tasks found.

    textSearch: 'You World'
    No tasks found.
    nice would be:

  18. User created content rights should be administrated not only by creator (Templates - Custom Dahsboards - etc.)

    As currently implemented - user created content such as Report Templates - Custom Dashboards - etc. - can only be administrated (VIEW and EDIT rights) by the creator.

    Problems:

    team work limited
    deleted users creates "zombie" Reports/Dashboards that cannot be administrated by anyone
    Suggestions:

    Users of the Administrators group should always have access to these settings - everywhere
    A third right could be added: VIEW/EDIT/ADMINISTRATE and distributed by creator/administrators among users

  20. Batch import multiple WTSRs from an Excel sheet to Breeze

    At present WTSRs can only be added to Breeze one at a time. When adding a long list of WTSRs - this can be a bit time consuming. If there was a way to batch upload them to Breeze (say in the form of an Excel file) it would save time and cut down the frequency of mistakes that that can be made while adding a new WTSR each time.
