Our approach to product feedback

Here at Power Factors, we take product feedback extremely seriously. We believe that listening to our customers, team members, and prospects - by taking their ideas on board - is a sure-fire way to build better products.
We use your feedback to identify the most important features, ideas, pain points, and opportunities so that you can get more value from our products as efficiently as possible.


The benefits of giving us your product feedback

If you take the time to submit your product feedback to us, it means that you have a direct say in how our products develop over time. It means that your ideas are valued and listened to, rather than filed away and ignored.
Ultimately, it allows us to work with you to build the best products we possibly can.

What happens to your product feedback

Our product teams meet regularly with the CSMs, to go through new ideas. Once we have verified that an idea isn’t already available in the system, and seems like a good idea, we change the status to Accepting Votes. Then more people can vote, prioritize, and give us information. This allows us to gauge demand, gather use cases, and establish impact & value.

If we decide to implement an idea, the status will change to Planned or In Development. When it’s done, the status will change to Delivered. Anyone who has submitted or voted on a specific request will be notified when the status of the request is updated. We will always provide an explanation as to the nature of the status update.

Unfortunately, not all requests are in line with our vision and strategy, so sometimes we reject them. When this happens, the status will be changed to Archived and we’ll add a note to let you know that it won’t be delivered.


How we choose what to implement

When we plan a release, we use many factors to help decide which suggestions to implement, including:

  • Customer feedback - there are many ways we listen for your feedback:
    formal customer interviews and other research activities
    events like conferences and trade shows
    comments and votes on issues here in Greenbyte & BluePoint Influence
  • CSM team insights - our CSM team knows which issues are the most challenging and most common for customers.
  • Product analytics - we track how users move through the system, which helps us understand how existing features are being used.
  • Product strategy - our long-term strategic vision for the products.
If you reach out directly to our support or customer success teams, they'll be able to look up the ideas for you, but they won't have any additional information or provide an estimate for when your item will be reviewed.


Custom applications

Sometimes you need functionality that is specific to your needs and not necessarily useful for other customers or in line with Power Factors strategic goals. These special requests are addressed through custom applications, which can be developed by you, using the Greenbyte API, by third-party partners, or by Power Factors for an additional fee. If you are interested in having a custom application built, contact your CSM.

  1. Make it possible to sort columns in Status Categorization

    I want to be able to arrange the downtimes by duration, WTG, start time, end time, category, code, comment, etc.

  2. Automatically switch from OPC into ODBC during no communication with OPC

    At this point the latest status will remain visible in the moitoring screens as soon as OPC communication is lost. But when an ODBC connection exist as a back-up the data is still available (not live but near real in 10 min - interval). It is required that as soon as there will be a communication loss at OPC for more than a certain time frame (30 min.) automatically the ODBC takes over and displays the latest 10 minute values in the monitoring screens.   3. Data Studio: Compare different time intervals - i.e. years

    We would like to be able to set up a graph comparing devices or farms values over different years (annaul average values and same month values over different years) - both in data studio and "analyze" dashboard.

  5. Harmonize date/time selectors throughout the system

    There are inconsistencies in both the options for quick time selectors (Last 7 days - Last week - etc.) as well as the label used for date/time fields (time span - time interval - during - etc.). Also - in some places you are given a single calendar to select both the start and end date - and in others these are separate calendars.

    We would like to harmonize the date/time selectors throughout the system to make them consistent.

  6. Filter templates

    It would be nice to have the option to create a filter template/preset. For instance: I only monitor certain parks/turbines. Now I have to manually select these in the filter. It would be nice to be able to create filter presets, so I can filter my turbines with 1 click.

  7. Expiry date on Personnel qualifications

    Put expiry dates on qualifications as per inductions. For example Authorised technician status. These qualifications are only valid for a period of time before they have to be renewed. At present there is a HSE risk that someones qualification could expire and they could take control / device access of an asset they are no longer authorised to work on. When the qualification expires then it is removed from the persons record as per the inductions meaning that they cannot take out a device access as they don't have the qualification needed.   9. exclude specific status from grouping

    The ability to exclude specific status messages from grouping. We have a specific status that stops the turbine, but is not the main reason if the turbine after that does not automatically start. It should be the next status as the main status. Therefore we would like the option that for a specific status, you can select to not group this status.

  11. Informational pop up when hovering over site access

    Introduce and info icon for site access records. When hovering over the site access info icon all available info for the record such as device access/tasks/personnel will be displayed without having to enter the individual record for further info

  12. Add site/device access icon from sidebar in widgets

    For monitoring turbines, it would we very helpful to have the site/device access icon or similar pictogramm able to be shown within the monitor / portfolio / stops after having connected a device / site access to a stop code. See attached file.

  13. Data Studio - Convenient Time Interval Selector

    In the same way you can conveniently select 'Year' or 'Month' in the 'Analyse - Portfolio' section - you should be able to do the same in 'Data Studio'. Currently you can only select Last 7 Days - Last 30 Days - Last 12 months or Custom Interval.

  14. Connecting alerts to tasks (acknowledging and commenting)

    For monitoring purposes it would be of great benefit to be able to ackonowledge and connect alerts with corresponding tasks. Alerts can come and disappear with a different scheme than statuses if the conditions are met. This would make it possible to have task comments appear at the status codes and the corresponding alerts at the same time. This would increase the overview about situations we want to be aware of.

  15. Plan - Site Access - Customizable dashboard

    Hi, it would be very useful to have in "Site Access" a customizable dashboard that would allow the users to add (or remove) any column that they would find relevant (irrelevant). For instance, to be able to add in the main table, a column with the comments related to the site intervention (so that by just one look on the table, we can have an overview of what's happening on several power plants).

  16. Data Studio: Export to Excel or CSV format

    Line- and Column diagrams are awesome but sometimes I want to import what I calculated into a csv (WT - TS - Signals) or copy it direkt from a table.

  17. Data Studio: Additional features for Dirty Dozen

    When selecting dirty dozen in the data studio - the overview should be maximized so scrolling down is not needed. Secondly - a new feature would be benificial when the posibility is there to click on the error code or message description to zoom in on which turbines this event occured in the selected period.

  18. Add expand/collapse button in the "active status events" dashboard widget to be able to edit main status (which has often already ended)

    The problem is that the main status is often already ended and other status hide behind the the main one. This often happens during longer "order by authority" stopps, which seems be externally controlled, however often there is an additional new and active stopp behing.

    It would be very helpful for daily monitoring to have all statuses expandable in the active status events widget. This would make it possible to view the statuses within the group and to edit all the "active status events" which have updated active statuses.

  19. Use calculated variables in Data Studio

    Define calculated variables for analysis in the Data Studio - such as:

    "wind park average value" -
    "average of selected turbines". Note that the "wind park average" option is already available in the "alarms" section.

  20. Status categorization / Status log: improve grouping / splitting meachnism

    (1) Ignore warnings in the grouping/splitting meachnism. The most issues we have right now with grouping/splitting are related to warnings - as a stop can not be split if there is a warning in the period.

    (2) Auto-split status groups when there is a change in the availablity category (as this is the normal use case for splitting - e.g. if the turbine has an error (unavailable) after a planned grid shut down or maintenance (available).

    (3) Auto-split in certain special cases. E.g. Nordex 920 (icing status) change to 921 (MET Ice detection alarm finished) - WT remains stopped and…
