Greenbyte Ideas

Our approach to product feedback

Here at Power Factors, we take product feedback extremely seriously. We believe that listening to our customers, team members, and prospects - by taking their ideas on board - is a sure-fire way to build better products.
We use your feedback to identify the most important features, ideas, pain points, and opportunities so that you can get more value from our products as efficiently as possible.

The benefits of giving us your product feedback

If you take the time to submit your product feedback to us, it means that you have a direct say in how our products develop over time. It means that your ideas are valued and listened to, rather than filed away and ignored.
Ultimately, it allows us to work with you to build the best products we possibly can.

What happens to your product feedback

Our product teams meet regularly with the CSMs, to go through new ideas. Once we have verified that an idea isn’t already available in the system, and seems like a good idea, we change the status to Accepting Votes. Then more people can vote, prioritize, and give us information. This allows us to gauge demand, gather use cases, and establish impact & value.

If we decide to implement an idea, the status will change to Planned or In Development. When it’s done, the status will change to Delivered. Anyone who has submitted or voted on a specific request will be notified when the status of the request is updated. We will always provide an explanation as to the nature of the status update.

Unfortunately, not all requests are in line with our vision and strategy, so sometimes we reject them. When this happens, the status will be changed to Archived and we’ll add a note to let you know that it won’t be delivered.

How we choose what to implement

When we plan a release, we use many factors to help decide which suggestions to implement, including:

  • Customer feedback - there are many ways we listen for your feedback:
    formal customer interviews and other research activities
    events like conferences and trade shows
    comments and votes on issues here in Greenbyte & BluePoint Influence
  • CSM team insights - our CSM team knows which issues are the most challenging and most common for customers.
  • Product analytics - we track how users move through the system, which helps us understand how existing features are being used.
  • Product strategy - our long-term strategic vision for the products.
If you reach out directly to our support or customer success teams, they'll be able to look up the ideas for you, but they won't have any additional information or provide an estimate for when your item will be reviewed.

Custom applications

Sometimes you need functionality that is specific to your needs and not necessarily useful for other customers or in line with Power Factors strategic goals. These special requests are addressed through custom applications, which can be developed by you, using the Greenbyte API, by third-party partners, or by Power Factors for an additional fee. If you are interested in having a custom application built, contact your CSM.

  1. active status event - performance upgrade adding and deleting status codes

    When adding or deleting specific status codes you like to see in the widget (in the Include and Exclude settings) you first have to delete the already selected status codes and then reselect all required status codes.

    This is very time consuming.

    It would be usefull if this could work the same like in the Alert module where you always can add additional statuscode even if you already selected some before.

  2. Improvement on the Status Overview widget

    When used in the Data Studio with one single turbine selected, each status is represented on a separated line (attached picture). The widget become quite large and take a lot of space on the interface which makes it inconvenient to compare with a ploting of the production and the availability all on the same page. In addition, it doesn't bring any value to have one line per status.
    An improvement would be to have one line per status code with the status code number as the header of the line. It would then become easy to grasp at a glance…

  3. Option to change the categorization in the "Lost Production per Category Pie"-widget

    In the Reports, there is a section "Lost Production" and inside that section is a "Lost Production per Category Pie"-widget. In this widget, the idea is to add the possibility to change the categorization of the lost production in the pie (IEC or contract categories).

    Please reach out to your CSM to get more information on how to get this device installed in the system.
    We’re very interested in getting storage assets installed, and any further feedback as well on how we can better support storage solutions for you would be greatly appreciated.

  5. Select all button on alarm acknowledgment.

    Is it possible to make a select all button for aknowledge errors, warning and so on.?
    sometimes we have so many errors that this button would be very handy.

  6. Progress/Loading bar for widgets

    Sometimes it takes a long time to load a widget and it is not clear how long or whether the data will eventually load. It would be good to have a progress bar rather than the simple rotating circle.

  7. Add an option to change the y-axis units on the "24hr with Bars" chart. MW is too large for a single solar "device".

    MW is too large a unit for many of our sites and devices. We like the "24hr with Bars" chart for the information it displays but would like to be able to use KW on the y-axis in many instances.

  8. Allow for widgets to "connect" across columns in dashboards with two or three columns.

    Widgets in separate columns may be meant to be viewed side by side. It would be convenient to force 2 widgets in separate columns to always populate with the top of the widget starting in line with a corresponding widget in an adjacent column. Attached are two screenshots in an attempt the illiustrate the issue. In one screenshot (Even Widgets.jpg) all widgets are minimized and you can see each widget has a corresponding widget in the adjacent collumn. These are in-line when the widgets are all minimized but once they are expanded, the widgets are no longer aligned via the…

  9. Dependency of the performance index to the deviation of the nacelle position to the wind direction

    I would like to have a graph that shows the dependency of the performance index to the deviation of the nacelle position to the wind direction

    here a bit pseudo code:
    ```
    frame = data('nacellepos', 'winddir', 'performanceindex')
    frame = filter(frame) # low
    windspeed, status codes and other bad conditions
    devdelta = frame['nacellepos'] - frame['winddir']
    cat
    devdelta = categorize(devdelta) # categorize dev_delta into bins, count the time per category, build the mean/median of the performance index
    barplot(catdevdelta)
    ```
    output should be the attachted picture.

  10. Weekly Date Format

    Hi,

    I am working on a weekly report, so i have chosen a weekly average resolution for my graph.
    However, there is no date format corresponding to weekly display.
    It would be great if we could have a weekly display for example "Week 1" for the first week of January.

  11. Power Curve Table

    I am trying to generate a “Wind Farm Power Curve” which is the sum of all the wind turbine power curves and not an average of all the individual curves This is a real life request as we have a need to generate this for a site for a contract.

    As part of this can we generate the power curve in a table – again the counter party does not want charts but prefers a table.

  12. Wind direction indicator to point into the wind

    I know that this is rather pedantic, but it is still throwing me off every time I look at the wind direction arrows. Maybe things are different here, but in the aviation world (and I thought in meteorology more generally), wind direction indicators point INTO the wind.

    Yours point with the wind. Can we please turn these around?

  13. Allow a "copy/paste" of dashboards between Analyze to Monitor and back

    One of the things we keep running into - is wanting to take a dashboard from the Monitor section and copy it to the Analyze section. With the time that goes into building the dashboards - if you make one under monitor - but also want the same or similar one in analyze - starting from scratch can take several hours when a copy paste option or move option would only take a minute.

  14. Running Text Log "Widget" on Dashboard

    We would like the ability to add a running text box on to a dashboard to act as a "notes" or "log" feature. Basically - you can enter in comments - and they input with a time and date stamp - but remain visible - just pushed below the next comment. There is the site notes widget and a log widget - but for the sake of efficiency and ease of use this text should be visible upon loading a dashboard without the need to enter additional pages. As we are usually doing these with clients on the phone or…

  15. Speed up refresh of active status event widget when a task is added to the event

    At the moment it can take a while before a new task is visible in the active status event widget. We would like this to be direct such that user is sure the task is linked to the status event properly.

  16. Turbine Real Time Key Metrics

    Under the Monitor site section of Breeze - please make a useable/configurable Widget for Key metrics for real time data of an individual Turbine. If you could configure a widget data points like you can widgets on a dashboard in to vertical columns a user could effectively monitor a Turbines real time Temps/pressures/position.

  17. Specific yield in kWh/kWp

    We are closely following the yield in kWh/kWp. It would be relevant in reports to have the option to display a table that summarize the yield under this format - monthly and for each site.

  18. Use delay function of notifications also in monitoring dashboards

    In notifications there is the option to select a delay - i. e. that statuses shorter than the selected time will not cause a notification to be sent. This would also be a great feature for the monitoring dashboards - especially for the control room. We would use it for stops like cable unwinding or battery test which only become relevant if the turbine is stopped for longer time - e. g. > 1 h.
