Our approach to product feedback

Here at Power Factors, we take product feedback extremely seriously. We believe that listening to our customers, team members, and prospects - by taking their ideas on board - is a sure-fire way to build better products.
We use your feedback to identify the most important features, ideas, pain points, and opportunities so that you can get more value from our products as efficiently as possible.


The benefits of giving us your product feedback

If you take the time to submit your product feedback to us, it means that you have a direct say in how our products develop over time. It means that your ideas are valued and listened to, rather than filed away and ignored.
Ultimately, it allows us to work with you to build the best products we possibly can.

What happens to your product feedback

Our product teams meet regularly with the CSMs, to go through new ideas. Once we have verified that an idea isn’t already available in the system, and seems like a good idea, we change the status to Accepting Votes. Then more people can vote, prioritize, and give us information. This allows us to gauge demand, gather use cases, and establish impact & value.

If we decide to implement an idea, the status will change to Planned or In Development. When it’s done, the status will change to Delivered. Anyone who has submitted or voted on a specific request will be notified when the status of the request is updated. We will always provide an explanation as to the nature of the status update.

Unfortunately, not all requests are in line with our vision and strategy, so sometimes we reject them. When this happens, the status will be changed to Archived and we’ll add a note to let you know that it won’t be delivered.


How we choose what to implement

When we plan a release, we use many factors to help decide which suggestions to implement, including:

  • Customer feedback - there are many ways we listen for your feedback:
    formal customer interviews and other research activities
    events like conferences and trade shows
    comments and votes on issues here in Greenbyte & BluePoint Influence
  • CSM team insights - our CSM team knows which issues are the most challenging and most common for customers.
  • Product analytics - we track how users move through the system, which helps us understand how existing features are being used.
  • Product strategy - our long-term strategic vision for the products.
If you reach out directly to our support or customer success teams, they'll be able to look up the ideas for you, but they won't have any additional information or provide an estimate for when your item will be reviewed.


Custom applications

Sometimes you need functionality that is specific to your needs and not necessarily useful for other customers or in line with Power Factors strategic goals. These special requests are addressed through custom applications, which can be developed by you, using the Greenbyte API, by third-party partners, or by Power Factors for an additional fee. If you are interested in having a custom application built, contact your CSM.

  1. Be able to sort Dirty Dozen on Reports

    Sort by Number of Events, Duration or Lost Production.

  2. Selection of the target availability as a line in the availability graph (e.g. 97%)

    In the settings of a turbine a target availability can be given. Currently it is not possible to show the target availability in the graph with system and contractual availability.

    Hi,

    This is already supported in Greenbyte.

    In an Analyze>WindFarm dashboard, add an "Average over Time" widget. 

    Select an availability signal and then the Config "Analyze Availability".

    The Target availability will show up as a line in the graph.

    When edit a graph and select an average line, the ledgend is not updated with the average lines.

  4. Make it possible to modify the format of the numbers and overall text in the reports

    It would be very useful to modify the format of the numbers to reflect the different formats of the language (for example comma to separate thousands instead of spaces) in order to avoid confusions.

    The text can also change depending on the area of the report with no real possibility to define the font, which can make the report look unprofessional.

  5. Reports - Display a signal bar table with the energy at grid meter and a CHOSEN budget to have automatically the deviation to budget in %.

    Problem : today - only values from the DEFAULT budget are displayed in the signal bar table in the report section. It would be useful to use the values from chosen budgets. This problem is existing on this particular table - but what makes this table particularly interesting is the the deviation to budget calculation expressed in % which does not exist on other table or charts.

  6. Add the device name in HSE reports

    The device (wind turbine) concerned by the Hazard Observation is not mentioned. Only the Wind farm name is given.

    Could you please modify so that we have the device name ?

  7. Customizable numeration of Graphs and Tables

    It would be nice to choose the numeration of the charts and tables independently and not let the system do it for me.

    The system rarely gets it right with how my custom report is designed.

  8. Bright - Sortable Production Table

    It would be ideal if a user could sort any table within a bright report by a selected column.

  9. "All time" selection in report widgets

    When adding a widget in the report a period must be given. There is a selection possible like default - this month - last month - this year - etc. But there is no possibility to select a period of all time. This can be done in a particular case with a custom interval. But a custom interval does not work for templates as the period will differ per wind turbine or wind farm wherefore the template will be used.

  10. Reports - Add the capacity of each inverter in the overview section

    In the overview section - add a 'capacity' column with the installed capacity of each inverter.

  11. In case of multiple site report : Possibility to display markers for each plant (and not the aggregated value of the portfolio)

    We would like to display each plant metadata and not the portfolio aggregated value. For example: I have a portfolio of two farms named A and B. A has a capacity of 10 MW and B has a capacity of 15 MW. By selecting Selected Site > Total capacity > MW it will give 25 MW. Would it be possible to choose metadata per plant and display then : A : 10 MW B : 15 MW Thanks

  12. Ability to change widgets position in a custom section

    It would save a great time if the widgets could be scrolled up or down in their section.

  13. Reports: front page image

    Front page image can now only be set on a per windfarm basis and then be called within Generate Report menu.

    We'd like to set front pages on a per report basis. Ex: all reports generated from the Monthly Report template should share the same front page - all reports from the Annual Report template should share the same front page - etc.

  14. Reporting: Possibility to choose metadata wind turbines using the marker system

    We need the possibility to choose the metadata fields of "wind turbines" in the menu Markers -> selected devices -> Metadata. At the Moment that is only possible for "wind farm" metadate using the menu Markers -> selected sites -> Metadata (see picture)

  15. Reports: Auto-scale wind roses

    The wind roses in the reports have a fixed scale - i. e. manual rescaling is often required in the report preparation. Instead the wind roses should be auto-scaled on wind farm level.

  16. Reports: 'Text' widget in report (custom section)

    Currently it is possible to add different types of widgets to a report (custom section). However it is not possible to add a text widget for extra text in a report.

    This is already possible using a Note section.

  17. Reports: Add possibility to specify hours in Time Interval

    Add possibility to specify start and end hours in the Time Interval selector when generating reports. Time Interval selector is currently limited to days.
