Greenbyte Ideas

Our approach to product feedback

Here at Power Factors, we take product feedback extremely seriously. We believe that listening to our customers, team members, and prospects - by taking their ideas on board - is a sure-fire way to build better products.
We use your feedback to identify the most important features, ideas, pain points, and opportunities so that you can get more value from our products as efficiently as possible.

The benefits of giving us your product feedback

If you take the time to submit your product feedback to us, it means that you have a direct say in how our products develop over time. It means that your ideas are valued and listened to, rather than filed away and ignored.
Ultimately, it allows us to work with you to build the best products we possibly can.

What happens to your product feedback

Our product teams meet regularly with the CSMs, to go through new ideas. Once we have verified that an idea isn’t already available in the system, and seems like a good idea, we change the status to Accepting Votes. Then more people can vote, prioritize, and give us information. This allows us to gauge demand, gather use cases, and establish impact & value.

If we decide to implement an idea, the status will change to Planned or In Development. When it’s done, the status will change to Delivered. Anyone who has submitted or voted on a specific request will be notified when the status of the request is updated. We will always provide an explanation as to the nature of the status update.

Unfortunately, not all requests are in line with our vision and strategy, so sometimes we reject them. When this happens, the status will be changed to Archived and we’ll add a note to let you know that it won’t be delivered.

How we choose what to implement

When we plan a release, we use many factors to help decide which suggestions to implement, including:

  • Customer feedback - there are many ways we listen for your feedback:
formal customer interviews and other research activities
events like conferences and trade shows
comments and votes on issues here in Greenbyte & BluePoint Influence
  • CSM team insights - our CSM team knows which issues are the most challenging and most common for customers.
  • Product analytics - we track how users move through the system, which helps us understand how existing features are being used.
  • Product strategy - our long-term strategic vision for the products.
If you reach out directly to our support or customer success teams, they'll be able to look up the ideas for you, but they won't have any additional information or provide an estimate for when your item will be reviewed.

Custom applications

Sometimes you need functionality that is specific to your needs and not necessarily useful for other customers or in line with Power Factors strategic goals. These special requests are addressed through custom applications, which can be developed by you, using the Greenbyte API, by third-party partners, or by Power Factors for an additional fee. If you are interested in having a custom application built, contact your CSM.

  1. Make it possible to view Alerts in Data Studio

Users will often have to go into data studio to investigate the underlying signals behind an alert. However, it is not possible to see Alerts on the status overview the same way you can see stops, warnings, communications outages, or curtailment. This would make it much easier to analyze the Alert.

  2. Alert schemes to include Days of the Week scheduling

Alert Schemes to include Days of the Week.
Noise Curtailment schedule need to also respect working hours. I.e the Turbines need to be curtailed Monday-Friday evening, Saturday Afternoon and Sunday full day.
This is Especially important for UK wind farms that have to protect "Amenity". (a special kind of noise curtailment for sensitive sites near neighborhoods in rural areas) Where infringement of "Amenity" must be reported on and followed up.

  3. Alerts: Allow users to manually end and/or delete alerts

We often have the case that alerts are not closed properly or are just generated for testing so manual editing is needed which only GB support can do at the moment. As alerts are user generated (by certain rules), it should be possible to edit and delete them.

  4. Mass Resolve HSE incidents

When you add a HSE incident to devices, it is easy to mass add them.
However, when it comes to resolving the HSE incidents, this has to be done individually which can be very time consuming, especially on a large site.

  5. Batch import multiple WTSRs from an Excel sheet to Breeze

At present WTSRs can only be added to Breeze one at a time. When adding a long list of WTSRs - this can be a bit time consuming. If there was a way to batch upload them to Breeze (say in the form of an Excel file) it would save time and cut down the frequency of mistakes that that can be made while adding a new WTSR each time.

  6. Reports: Save As Template/Previous Version

Add 'Save As' option box beside 'Download' - Edit' and 'Delete' which can save as 'Template' or 'Historical Report'. Currently saving a report as Template can only be down through Support - and there is no way to save historical versions or revisions of reports - They have to be overwritten. It would be beneficial if the 'Save As' function saved the generated PDFs in a separate 'Historical Reports' section.

  7. Status Categorization - New main status quick select

Adding a quick option to set a new status as main status for the event would save alot of time in handling contract codes and general cleanup

  8. Auto Comment option for errorcode's.

Some errors are to general (or not telling exactly the status of the turbine), like for example Vestas errors: "RCS 13" or errorcode "user defined alarm 20" Therefore a auto comment would make sence that described the code so all of the teammembers know what is happening on a specific windfarm when those kind of errors occur.

Please could you add a, "Limited AT" category, as a few OEMs have these now. Especially Vestas.

  10. Allow reporting in Site time, not only in Company time as is the case at the moment

We suggest to open up the possibility to create reports in site time. Financial reporting is typically done in site time and therefore the current setup in Greenbyte generates a sync issue if the wind farm is located in another timezone than company time.

  11. Lost Production per Category including "Energy Export" to have the percentage LOP per category

The current Lost Production per Category widget feels incomplete. I am interested to have an option so I can see per asset (and per turbine) what percentage of the gross production is lost per category.

Let's assume 100 MWh gross production (Energy Export + Lost Production to Downtime) and the following losses:
2 MWh - Ice stop loss
4 MWh - Shadow stop loss
3 MWh - Noise stop loss

Then I would like to see a pie chart with:
    Energy Export - 91 MWh (91%)
    Ice stop losses - 2 MWh (2%)
    Shadow stop losses - 4 MWh (4%)…

  12. Issue: "General site" pre-selected when creating task during log on process

When creating a new task during the log on process "General Site" is (hiddenly) pre-selected and not the specific turbine(s) directly. That should be changed.

  14. Resolve Task Through Comment

There should be a toggle to resolve/unresolve a task from the add comment window - similar to the resolve task function found when logging site access.

  15. Have a maintenance schedule tracker for turbines

Have a maintenance schedule for the turbines with an alert system for overdue works.

    • Annual maintenance
    • Semi-annual maintenance
    • Blade inspection
    • HV inspections

  16. Export status file by specific status / warning

We would like to export the status file by only a certain type of status (Stops, warnings ) such as blade bending warning or manual stop event.
same as you can sort events in the statuslog.

  17. Provide the ability to manually make a stop active

Sometimes it's necessary to set a previously closed stop code back to active in Greenbyte, or the user may have to create an active stop manually. It is not possible to create the active stop today.

Making a stop active can be done by contacting Greenbyte support, however, this takes time and can be tedious for large sites with multiple stop codes to re-open.

It would improve the usability of the system and improve the overall status log functionality if it was possible to manually set a stop code as active, and not have to go through GB support each…

  18. Enable filter in Data Studio for WT-types

I'm missing the option to filter on WT-types in Data Studio. We have a great variety of WT-bands and WT-types. Therefore it would be great to be able to filter in order to ease the evaluation within certain WT-types.

  19. Permanently save filtered turbines in dashboard view

We have a bunch of turbines, where we only save site accesses and device accesses. We are not meant to monitor these sites.

I tried to filter the turbines in the dashboard that we need to monitor. However, every time you reload the dashboard, the filtered turbines get reset to "All".

To avoid having all turbines on our dashboard, it makes it necessary to edit every single widget and to filter turbines that we don't want to monitor.

We do have several widgets and it would make it easier to have the possibility to filter all at the same time.

  20. Make custom section titles visible on the report outline page

When creating a report that contains several custom sections, it's difficult to know which section is which since the section titles don't update.

If I want to see what my custom section is, I need to reload the report and find it again. This is time consuming, especially for reports which take a long time to load.

If the main report outline page updated with section titles, just like the table of contents does, this would make reporting much more efficient.
